Virtual Newsletter about Software Freedom November 21, 2025 XLibre: A better X server ------------------------- XLibre[1] is a fork of the Xorg X server. It was created due to Freedesktop.org primarily focusing on Wayland. They have made several advancements to the X server. You can use it on most GNU/Linux distros. It has no "Code of Conduct", which is why many distros didn't implement it by themselves. You can check if your distro is supported on "Are We XLibre Yet?" [2] It works great for me. TearFree is a bit buggy but that's okay. I recommend you try XLibre today. - NexusSfan [1] https://x11libre.net [2] https://github.com/X11Libre/xserver/wiki/Are-We-XLibre-Yet%3F --- Copyright (c) 2025 NexusSfan Except where otherwise noted, this work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License A copy of the license is included at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/4.0 ---
