Virtual Newsletter about Software Freedom November 15, 2024 Non-free Content is (Sometimes) Okay, but only without DRM ---------------------------------------------------------- I have a playlist of music. It contains non-free content, shockingly. But this playlist has no DRM, as it is stored locally. Which means that no one can take it away from me. Sure, I will follow the licenses placed on the music, but there is nothing preventing me from listening to music. DRM, is another story. With DRM, you don't have any rights. That means that the DRM service can prevent you from listening to music. Generally, avoid non-free programs, but nonfree videos/music is somewhat okay. - NexusSfan --- Copyright (c) 2024 NexusSfan Except where otherwise noted, this work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License A copy of the license is included at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/4.0 ---
