Virtual Newsletter about Software Freedom Febuary 17, 2026 Konec IPv4! ----------- The Czech Republic plans to drop IPv4 on June 6, 2032[1]. I agree with this, as there are many issues with IPv4. NATs, CGNATS, exhaustion, etc. are all big problems with IPv4. LACNIC and RIPE are already on their last `/24`s. All of my servers are IPv6, and some of them are IPv6 ONLY![2] However, a lot of larger servers still use IPv4[3]. While there are services like NAT64[4], you shouldn't have to use them. For software like XLibre which only uses GitHub, I might make a proxy for it, or you can use the existing GitHub proxies.[5] But since I already host my code on Code.NoLog.CZ[6], it already supports IPv6. If you or your server doesn't have IPv6, go get IPv6! - NexusSfan [1] https://konecipv4.cz [2] https://technetium.rivergames.ca [3] https://doesgithubhaveipv6yet.com [4] https://nat64.net/public-providers [5] https://danwin1210.de/github-ipv6-proxy.php [6] https://code.nolog.cz --- Copyright (c) 2026 NexusSfan Except where otherwise noted, this work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License A copy of the license is included at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/4.0 ---
